Dr Richard Jones is a Consultant Cardiologist and Cardiac Imaging Lead at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, and a Senior Research Fellow at Anglia Ruskin University. He provides expert, patient-centred cardiology care across both NHS and private practice settings.
In his NHS role, Dr Jones works at Broomfield Hospital, Basildon Hospital, and the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre, where he manages a broad range of cardiovascular conditions. He specialises in general cardiology and cardiac imaging, with particular expertise in advanced cardiac imaging.
Dr Jones completed his PhD at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London, where his research focused on mitochondrial function in ischaemic heart disease and the prediction of sudden cardiac death. He remains actively involved in research and is committed to advancing cardiovascular care.
